Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I seem to have hit a plateau. My weight hasn’t shifted for a while. What can I do?

A. Don’t despair. A plateau happens to a lot of slimmers. It’s important to realise that this is perfectly normal. The first thing to do is check the sizes of your food portions. Although SlimBuddy does not specify portion sizes we do assume that you eat reasonable size portions. Even with healthy low GI foods eating large portions of, for example, pasta, rice and nuts is not going to help your weight loss program. Make an honest review of how much you are eating.

If the plateau lasts for more than a couple of weeks and you are sure that you haven’t been overeating then you need to ‘kick-start’ your metabolism. The best way to do this is to increase the time you spend exercising by around 10 minutes each day.

Be patient. Remember that even with the exercise kick-start your plateau may take two or three weeks to disappear. But it will!
